Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Platform Reliability Engineer to join our Global Technology Services Management and Support Team.

This role involves building solutions that enhance application health and performance, automating processes to improve system reliability, and experimenting with new technologies to guide others.

Our team provides consulting and education on reliability practices to other teams, creates new tools, and finds innovative ways to surface operational data and simplify the lives of our colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with other teams to provide application monitoring strategy.
  • Build and set up monitoring within our Monitoring Platform.
  • Develop new application monitors, dashboards, and creative solutions.
  • Create automation solutions using scripting languages and APIs.
  • Use problem-solving skills and tooling to help uncover application issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Create visibility of our data and help partners understand it.
  • Support and enhance our current toolset.
  • Promote reliability engineering within our team and beyond.
  • Handle communications with business allies to ensure comprehensive information for technical and non-technical members.
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal teams.
  • Adapt to evolving priorities.
Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience in a technical role in IT (including co-op experiences).
  • Coding experience with NodeJS or JavaScript.
  • Scripting experience with languages such as PowerShell or Python.
  • Experience with monitoring tools: New Relic, Dynatrace, CA APM, PRTG.
  • Data-driven and passionate about using data to advance effectiveness and enable superb customer experiences.
  • Dedicated and able to work independently with a continuous learning approach.
  • A focus on creating excellent customer experiences.

  • Clear, concise, tactful communication skills.

  • Understanding of the Financial Services or Insurance Industry and/or Large Enterprise knowledge.
  • ITILTM Foundations or Practitioner level certifications (especially Support Operations).
