About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Reliability Engineer to join our team at Manulife. As a key member of our Global Technology Services Management and Support Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement application monitoring strategies.
  • Design and build monitoring solutions using Synthetics, APM, and Infrastructure tools.
  • Develop new application monitors, dashboards, and creative solutions to improve platform reliability.
  • Create automation solutions using scripting languages and APIs to streamline processes.
  • Use problem-solving skills and tooling to identify and resolve application issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Develop and maintain visibility of platform data and provide insights to stakeholders.
  • Support and enhance our current toolset to ensure optimal performance.
  • Promote reliability engineering best practices within the team and across the organization.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure information is comprehensive and accessible.
Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience in a technical role in IT, including co-op experiences.
  • Coding experience with NodeJS or JavaScript.
  • Scripting experience with languages such as PowerShell or Python.
  • Experience with monitoring tools: New Relic, Dynatrace, CA APM, PRTG.
  • Data-driven and passionate about using data to advance effectiveness and enable superb customer experiences.
  • Dedicated and able to work independently with a continuous learning approach.
