Job Title: Laboratory Technician

At Semex, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our production laboratory team in Kemptville. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and quantity of our semen production meet established guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and maintain accepted protocols for routine semen production
  • Perform labeling, dilution, fill-sealing, racking, freezing, and liquid nitrogen dispensing tasks
  • Manage lab database and maintain records and lab material inventories
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to team discussions
Requirements:
  • College Diploma or equivalent education and experience
  • Previous experience in a lab production facility is an asset
  • Understanding of lab production, quality control, and production database maintenance
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
  • Physical fitness and ability to stand for long periods
  • Able to work in a cold room environment with temperatures ranging from 3°- 25° C
  • Knowledge of the agriculture industry is an asset
