**LABORATORY TECHNICIAN**

**1 Year Contract**

**Full Time - Afternoon Shift**

**Kemptville, ON**

Responsibilities include:

- Use of accepted protocols to ensure that all processes required for routine semen production meet established quality and quantity guidelines
- Routine microscopic motility, volume and photometric evaluation
- Labeling, dilution, fill-sealing, racking, freezing, extender-supplies, maintenance, lab collection equipment hygiene, lab cleanliness, and liquid nitrogen dispensing
- Lab database management and maintenance of records and lab material inventories
- Participating in occasional staff meetings

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

- High school diploma required - College Diploma or equivalent education and experience preferred but not required
- Experience in a lab production facility preferred but not required
- Understanding of lab production, quality control, production database maintenance and recording
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Physically fit with acute manual dexterity, and able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to tolerate work in the cold room environment with temperatures ranging from 3°- 5° C
- Knowledge of the agriculture industry is an asset
