Gameplay Animator Job Description

At Ubisoft, we're seeking a skilled Gameplay Animator to join our team in Montreal. As a Gameplay Animator, you'll be responsible for creating polished, harmonious animations that bring our games to life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sync the game engine and build to ensure you're working with the latest code and animations;
  • Collaborate with artists, designers, programmers, and leads to update and be updated on the current situation;
  • Prototype, key frame, or block animations;
  • Work on animations from scratch or from motion capture data;
  • Test and validate animations;
  • Problem-solve and polish animations;
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest academic literature in animation.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in video game animation or equivalent;
  • Proficiency in communicating with all disciplines and supporting the team in terms of visuals;
  • Experience with animation software such as Motion Builder, 3ds Max, or Maya;
  • A passion for pushing the boundaries of animation while understanding the demands of cohesive teamwork.
What We Offer:

We're a hybrid team, and if you reside outside Quebec or Canada, relocation will be necessary. If you require a work permit, your eligibility will depend on your education and relevant work experience, as required by the government.
