The Financial Controller will be responsible for leading the company's financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting processes. This role will play a critical part in developing and reporting financial plans and forecasts that reflect the company's expected business results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and management's discussion and analysis (MD&A) in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Develop and manage the company's budgeting and financial forecasting processes.
  • Provide financial analysis and support to senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Manage the company's financial reporting and analysis, including the preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and management reports.
  • Develop business cases for key strategic opportunities, including capital investments, business development, and corporate development.
  • Build detailed financial models and perform business analysis to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and streamlining reporting and business processes.
  • Support the execution of the annual strategic planning sessions.
  • Respond to requests for information from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators.
  • Support senior management and departments with in-depth analysis as required.
  • Identify opportunities for automation to benefit and improve the efficiency and performance of the Finance group.
  • Support and lead regulatory and compliance reporting.
  • Monitor performance indicators and analyze causes of unexpected variance.
  • Manage cash flow requirements and prepare weekly cash disbursement summaries.
  • Manage the credit facility and prepare borrowing base reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of corporate tax returns and liaise with tax auditors.
  • Responsible for analyzing and reporting new leases and renewals.
  • Liaise with external auditors.
  • Participate in special projects as required.

Professional Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • A high performer with ability to multi-task and work to deadlines.
  • Accounting designation with financial reporting experience.
  • Experience with manufacturing or similar ERP system.
  • Intermediate to advanced analytical and financial modeling skills using Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • High standards of accuracy and precision, and organization skills.

Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000 CAD
