About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at Regional Sewer and Watermain Ltd. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as backhoes, bulldozers, and loaders to perform various tasks related to sewer and watermain construction and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, bulldozers, and loaders to perform tasks such as excavation, trenching, and backfilling.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Site Preparation: Prepare work sites by clearing debris, leveling ground, and setting up equipment.
  • Supervision: Supervise and direct other equipment operators as needed to ensure efficient and safe operation.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or maintenance setting.
  • Physical Demands: This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
Work Environment

This position involves working outdoors in various locations, including construction sites and maintenance areas. The work environment is physically demanding and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Language and Work Schedule

The primary language of work is English or French, and the work schedule is 35 hours per week. This is a permanent position with opportunities for advancement and professional growth.
