Role Overview:

As a Senior Risk Control Advisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of fire safety, risk engineering, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough site evaluations at client locations, focusing on property, general and product liability, and fleet risks.
  • Generate comprehensive risk documentation, including underwriting reports for the insurance sector, risk assessments, and recommendation reports.
  • Perform loss estimation calculations, such as Probable Maximum Loss (PML) and Maximum Foreseeable Loss (MFL).
  • Assist brokers during the placement process by supplying pertinent information regarding risk exposures and insurer requirements.
  • Provide expert advice to clients on risk exposures and effective control measures.
  • Develop and implement risk control strategies for large-scale clients.
  • Analyze and prioritize recommendations from insurers.
  • Support research and development efforts concerning technical issues and considerations.
  • Contribute to building valuation practices.
  • Aid in enhancing building safety measures.
  • Review and advise clients on the design of fire protection systems and building mechanics.
  • Revise hydraulic plans and calculations to meet applicable standards.
  • Deliver specialized expertise in fire protection and generate detailed reports.
  • Continuously develop your knowledge in risk assessment and control practices, preparing essential reports and supporting brokers with risk exposure information.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in risk control within a brokerage, insurance company, or large organization.
  • Background in site inspections, risk management, and/or fire safety.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a diploma in fire protection, applied sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) and FM (Factory Mutual) standards.
  • Knowledge of building construction codes and mechanics.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic calculation software (e.g., HydraCalc or equivalent).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
