About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer to join our team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our Transportation & Infrastructure group, you will be responsible for designing and developing transportation infrastructure projects, including traffic data collection and analysis, intersection and roundabout design, active transportation planning, and public engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and analysis to support project development
  • Collaborate with team members to prepare comprehensive reports and presentations
  • Develop and implement technical assessments and calculations to ensure project accuracy
  • Design and review technical drawings and details, contributing to the design process
  • Assist in creating preliminary and detailed engineering plans for signalized intersections, roundabouts, and highway/road designs
  • Prepare cost estimates and quantity take-offs for transportation infrastructure projects
  • Draft tender documents and specifications for transportation infrastructure projects
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports and other project-related documentation
  • Support field construction activities, including site construction review duties
  • Provide technical support and assistance in executing technical tasks
  • Participate in quality control review of construction documentation
  • Engage in field work, including setting up traffic counting equipment and collecting parking data
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • Registration with the provincial engineering association
  • 0-4 years of industry-related experience
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and the MS Office Suite
  • Familiarity with municipal/transportation design standards and specifications
  • Excellent technical, analytical, writing, and presentation skills
  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Desire to take on new challenges and grow professionally
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (strong asset)
