Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Counter Salesperson in our Plumbing division. As a Counter Salesperson, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized counter sales area, and supporting customers with their purchasing needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide sales support to walk-in customers, answering questions and assisting with product selection
  • Maintain a clean and organized counter sales area, including merchandising displays and inventory
  • Enter, pick, and pack sales orders generated at the counter
  • Process returns and warranty claims, including paperwork in compliance with procedures
  • Follow up on backorders with vendors and provide customers with accurate delivery dates
  • Navigate and find solutions for customer concerns and complaints
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; college and/or university degree an asset
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service or counter sales
  • Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills with customers, vendors, and teammates
  • Ability to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate math skills with a strong attention to detail
Preferred Skills
  • Previous experience with or knowledge of plumbing and building products sold at the counter
  • Ability to use the Internet as a resource to problem solve and find alternative solutions for customers
