Job Opportunity in Central Finance Division

The Central Finance Division is responsible for ensuring the Manitoba Government operates transparently and in compliance with government financial policies. We provide shared financial services and budget oversight for various departments, including Finance, Executive Council, Public Service Commission, Public Debt, Tax Credits, and Employee Pension and Other Costs (EPOC).

Key Qualifications:

  • Recognized accounting designation Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) (CA, CMA, CGA) or equivalent training and experience.
  • Experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, internal control concepts, and accrual accounting practices.
  • Experience in developing and monitoring processes and internal controls.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desirable Skills:
    • Experience with SAP and PBFM or equivalent accounting/ERP software.

Job Responsibilities:

The Comptrollership Analyst serves as the primary contact and subject matter expert in comptrollership and financial administration for client departments. Reporting to the Director (SFO), the analyst supports department leadership with budgeting, cash flows, variance reporting, policy interpretation, and more. This role involves assisting departments in fiscal responsibility and management.
