Alberta Health Services is seeking a skilled Health Care Aide to join our Home Living team. As a Health Care Aide, you will provide professional support services in the homes of clients of all ages and stages of life.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personal care and support to clients in a community setting, including assistance with activities of daily living and support services.
- Work collaboratively with clients, families, and caregivers to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, and communicate effectively with patients and health professionals.
- Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BCLS HCP) certification.
- Excellent communication and assessment skills.
- Ability to apply health and safety principles in delivering care to clients in the community.
- Previous experience in the healthcare field and work with older or chronically ill individuals.
- Medication Assistance Certificate or prior experience in Medication Assistance.
