Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Catheterization Lab team on a part-time basis. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the provision of patient care in a fast-paced environment, working closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Effectively use the Standards of Nursing Practice and the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Provide health teaching to patients and their families, promoting education and empowerment.
  • Assist with invasive cardiac procedures, including angiography, angioplasty, and right heart catheterizations.
  • Monitor patients post-procedure, including removal of femoral sheaths.
  • Work in a team environment, wearing lead apron/vest and thyroid collar as required.
Qualifications
  • Certificate of competency in Ontario.
  • ACLS certification, current within the last two years.
  • Current certification in venipuncture (I.V. certification).
  • ECG Interpretation.
Experience
  • 2 years critical care experience and/or cardiac cath lab experience.
  • 2 years current hemodynamic monitoring experience.
  • Experience with titration of cardiac medications, inotropes, and invasive cardiac monitoring.
Skills
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in the management and care of patients.
  • Knowledgeable in the utilization and care of all mechanical equipment required for patient care.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability
  • Demonstrated behavior consistent with the hospital's mission statement and Values.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain successful working relationships; ability to meet and interact with people in a pleasant, professional, responsible, and reassuring manner, both in person and on the telephone; tact, courtesy, and alertness in public contacts.
