Senior Project Manager

Fortinet Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead initiatives for FIO – Fortinet Integrated OpenStack platform.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in OpenStack and public cloud services, as well as a deep understanding of engineering development cycles and the ability to engage with technical customers and field sales.

As a member of the PM team, the successful candidate will work closely with Systems Engineering leaders to validate customer requests and prioritize effectively to drive business growth.

The PM will be responsible for defining functional specifications, breaking down feature requests, managing timelines and deliverables, and bringing new features and products to market.

Experience in compliance or customer-facing technical roles such as System Engineering or similar is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Distill customer business problems from internal and external stakeholder needs analysis and feedback.
  • Work closely with field teams to define and prioritize development activities to ensure product requirements are captured and execution matches expectations.
  • Generate product roadmaps and communicate as necessary, including both internal and external product evangelism.
  • Create regular reports to capture priorities from technical, commercial, and support arenas to ensure effective allocation of resources.
  • Provide support to field teams in customer engagements, including technology overviews, product details, product demos, and technical expertise.
  • Work with the PM team to deploy FIO platforms in global data centers.
  • Collaborate with internal infosec teams to ensure products meet compliance requirements such as SOC2, ISO27K, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and others.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and recommend solutions to extend product functionality.
  • Write internal and public-facing technical documentation.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience working in product management, with an OpenStack vendor in a project management or technical role.
  • Or several years of project management experience or relevant experience managing technical software-as-a-service or infrastructure-as-a-service environments.
  • Or several years of experience in Systems Engineering or TAC roles with subject matter expertise in OpenStack or related cloud technologies.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Attention to detail and ability to coordinate with multiple teams across the organization.
  • Strong technical and market familiarity with OpenStack technologies, the competitive landscape, and market direction.
  • Understanding of a broad range of OpenStack technologies and their customer use cases.
  • Hands-on experience with deployment and integration of OpenStack or adjacent technologies into customer environments.
  • Understanding of customer use cases.
  • Experience with detailed competitive analysis, product pricing, and estimation.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the general product planning discipline, with previous cross-collaboration teamwork experience in working with development engineering, field sales, and directly with customers.
  • Solid organizational skills and a passion for working hard in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of general networking concepts and solutions across network domains such as routing, switching, firewalls, ACLs, and SD-WAN.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of security controls and solutions across security domains such as enterprise security, access management, including authentication and authorization, user/identity management, protocols and concepts, encryptions, vulnerability management, and network security.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of corporate enterprise technologies and solutions.

Education:
