Job Title: Original Talking Circle Facilitator

Native Child and Family Services of Toronto is seeking a skilled and compassionate Original Talking Circle Facilitator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing holistic, culturally-based prevention services to our children and families in the Toronto Indigenous Community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the OTC Process within the agency and between departments.
  • Field referrals and conduct intake screenings with families.
  • Educate and prepare families on the OTC process and its benefits.
  • Co-facilitate Circle with Elders to create a safe space for everyone's voice to be heard.
  • Develop an agreed-upon plan for moving forward with families.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide consultation and support to internal staff and families as needed.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding and practice of Indigenous approaches to healing, including land-based practices and cultural knowledge.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field.
  • Experience working with Indigenous people and communities.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and maintain effective communication and working relationships.
