Position Summary: We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Nurse/Psychiatric Care Specialist to become part of our team at Sechelt Hospital. This role involves delivering exceptional care to elderly residents in a residential care environment, showcasing both expertise and leadership in nursing practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver resident care autonomously and collaboratively within a team
- Coordinate clinical actions and assess resident outcomes
- Serve as a resource for the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Collaborate and support fellow healthcare professionals
- Enhance the quality of life for residents and their families
- Engage in committees, teams, and research initiatives
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Current registration as a Licensed Nurse or Psychiatric Care Specialist
- Completion of a gerontology course or equivalent practical experience
Knowledge & Skills:
- Proven ability in nursing practice related to chronic health conditions
- Expertise in pathophysiology, nursing evaluations, and interventions
- Capacity to foresee and address care-related issues
- Proficiency in equipment usage and care plan formulation
