Clinical Hematologist Position

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will become part of a collaborative and dedicated team that includes 5 general medical oncologists and 3 hematologists, specializing in both benign and malignant conditions. The Oncology Clinic Team is supported by a psychotherapist, palliative care physicians, oncology nurses, chemotherapy pharmacists, administrative staff, social workers, and dieticians.
The candidate will be tasked with conducting inpatient Hematology consultations, addressing both benign and malignant cases at multiple sites, following a rotating schedule with fellow Hematologists. All Hematology inpatients are managed under a hospitalist care model, where Hematologists provide consultation services exclusively (not as the MRP). Additionally, Hematologists are expected to round on a Medicine inpatient ward approximately every 8-12 weeks during weekends from 8am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Support from Laboratory, Pathology, Diagnostic Imaging, and Interventional Radiology Departments is readily accessible, ensuring prompt reporting, imaging, and procedural wait times.

Educational Requirements and Certifications

  • Independent license or eligibility for an independent license with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
  • FRCP(C) with certification in Hematology and eligibility for APP under the ONT MOA agreement.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada without restrictions.
  • Member in good standing with the Canadian Medical Protection Association.
