We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at WSP Canada. As an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, clients, and the general public.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct on-site assessments and monitoring to identify potential health and safety hazards
- Develop and implement effective health and safety programs and procedures
- Provide training and guidance to employees on health and safety protocols
- Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure health and safety considerations are integrated into project planning and execution
- Occupational Health and Safety Technician certificate or equivalent education
- Eligible for membership in a professional organization (e.g. IOSH, ASSE)
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards (e.g. OHSAS 18001, CSA Z1001)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with no restrictions
