CHAPLAIN

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Chaplain to serve in our long-term care facility. This role is pivotal in addressing the spiritual and religious needs of our residents, their families, and our staff.

As a Chaplain, you will play a crucial role in fostering a supportive environment where residents can engage in their spiritual practices. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing the spiritual and religious care requirements of residents and providing direct support tailored to their needs.
  • Offering spiritual care and counseling, while also facilitating referrals to other professionals as necessary.
  • Leading prayer sessions, study groups, and religious services for diverse faiths represented within our community.
  • Participating in bereavement activities, including memorial services, to support families during difficult times.
  • Maintaining thorough documentation for care planning and progress tracking.
  • Coordinating and evaluating the contributions of other pastoral service providers.
  • Performing additional duties as required to support the spiritual well-being of our residents.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in Divinity/Theology, Pastoral Education, or a relevant combination of spiritual education.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, alongside proficient documentation abilities.
  • Experience in program planning and implementation for both healthy individuals and those with cognitive impairments.
  • Ability to work autonomously, demonstrating initiative and effective time management.
  • Previous experience in providing spiritual care within a long-term care setting is advantageous.
  • Successful completion of a Police Check/Vulnerable Screening Check and Medical is required.
