About the Role

F & S Logistics Limited is seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across the country, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and Adjust Routes: Use computer equipment, GPS, and other navigation devices to optimize routes, minimize fuel consumption, and reduce carbon emissions.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring professionalism and a positive experience for clients.
  • Travel Arrangements: Arrange travel itineraries, make reservations, and ensure smooth logistics for transportation.
  • Teamwork: Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, working collaboratively to achieve goals.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods safely and efficiently, adhering to company procedures.
  • Vehicle Operation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks, transporting goods and materials across the country.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of the vehicle, ensuring it is in good working order.
  • Payment and Documentation: Process payments for goods, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Emergency Response: Perform emergency roadside repairs, respond to incidents, and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring the vehicle is safe and roadworthy.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and ensure the vehicle is in good condition.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, maintaining effective communication throughout the journey.
  • Cargo Management: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, ensuring accurate records.
  • Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo, adhering to company protocols and regulations.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Licenses: Possess a valid AZ class license, Driver's License (Class 1 or A), and any other required certifications.
  • Documentation Knowledge: Familiarity with accident or incident reports, bills of lading, driver logbooks, inspection reports, maintenance and repair reports, trans-border documentation, and trip reports.
  • Transportation Experience: Proven experience in long-haul trucking, with a strong understanding of transportation and logistics.
  • Security and Safety: Possess a valid passport, have a clean driving record, and pass a criminal record check and drug test.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Personal Suitability: Strong judgment, organized, reliable, team player, hardworking, and patient.
