Job Summary

A&H Singhs Transportation Ltd is seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across the country, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Route Planning: Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, and perform emergency roadside repairs.
  • Logistics: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Cargo Handling: Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo, and transporting and handling dangerous goods.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Air Brakes Endorsement, Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks).
  • Communication Systems: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment.
  • Transportation/Travel Experience: Long-haul, national, provincial/territorial, regional, and short-haul experience.
  • Security and Safety: Valid passport, driver's validity licence check, driving record check (abstract), drug test, and medical exam.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, physically demanding.
  • Personal Suitability: Flexibility, organized, reliability, team player, hardworking, patience.
