Unit Overview
Diagnostic Services provides essential imaging services to a diverse range of adult and pediatric patients, operating continuously to meet the needs of our community.
Position Overview
As an integral member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Registered X-Ray Technologist is responsible for coordinating, executing, and assessing diagnostic imaging procedures within the realms of general X-Ray and CT. The role may extend to other imaging modalities based on qualifications. This position involves guiding and mentoring clinical and technical staff as well as students in a dynamic teaching and research environment, while delivering patient care that aligns with our core values of respect, compassion, innovation, and accountability. Flexibility to rotate through various modalities and locations may be required based on qualifications and departmental needs.
Work Schedule
Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, with on-call duties as necessary.
Qualifications
1. Graduate from an accredited Radiological Technology program.
2. Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario.
3. Valid BCLS certification.
4. Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
5. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
6. Excellent problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced clinical setting.
7. Evidence of ongoing education and professional development.
8. Membership in CAMRT/OAMRS is preferred.
9. A minimum of 2 years of hospital experience is preferred.
10. Previous experience in CT imaging is preferred.
11. CT Imaging Certificate is preferred.
12. At least 2 years of recent experience as a practicing Mammographer is considered an asset.
13. Certification with the Ontario Breast Screening Program is considered an asset.
14. Completion of a Certificate in Breast Imaging (CBI) is considered an asset.
As a condition of employment, proof of full COVID-19 vaccination must be submitted to Employee Health Services.
