Senior Analyst - Solar Energy Assessment

We are currently seeking a Senior Solar Energy Analyst to enhance our Utility-scale solar energy assessment capabilities. This role will primarily involve evaluating solar resources and forecasting energy production for both proposed and existing solar projects across North America.
As part of our mission, you will contribute to the advancement of renewable energy solutions that address climate change and promote societal well-being. Our team is characterized by a commitment to excellence and a collaborative spirit, reflecting the values of equity and respect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive solar resource and energy production evaluations.
- Analyze climatic data alongside operational performance metrics from solar facilities.
- Focus on utility-scale solar assessments while also supporting various project scales, including residential and commercial.
- Forecast energy generation outcomes.
- Conduct statistical uncertainty assessments and degradation analyses.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, atmospheric science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in solar resource assessment or modeling.
- Strong understanding of solar resource variability and its implications for energy forecasting.
- Familiarity with solar Measure Correlate and Predict (MCP) methodologies.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Solid grasp of fundamental solar modeling principles, including tools like PVSyst and/or SAM.
- Experience with uncertainty and statistical data analysis.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (Python, R, SQL, MATLAB, etc.).
- Ability to enhance processes through improvement techniques.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Commitment to safety and environmental standards.
- Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience as a consultant in the renewable energy sector.
- Knowledge of industry measurement techniques and standards.
- Understanding of solar project execution and financing.
