Merchandise Operations Specialist

As a key member of the Category Management team at Cabela's, the Merchandise Operations Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Merchandise Management System (MMS) and SAP.

Reporting to the Merchandise Sourcing Manager, this specialist is responsible for analyzing and executing the strategic direction of the Category Management team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Specializing in BPS's MMS systems and SAP, using system knowledge to make informed decisions based on interpretation, discretion, and judgment.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Category Management, Distribution & Logistics, and Planning & Inventory teams to align systems and ensure SKUs move as planned through replenishment channels.
  • Designing, developing, training, and documenting modifications to BPS's MMS, including writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Requirements for this role include:

  • 2-4 years of administrative work experience.
  • Post-secondary education in business administration or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Strong PC skills with an emphasis on Spreadsheets (Excel) and Database Management Systems (Access or other query tools).
  • Ability to analyze and sort large data sets.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and cross-functionally with other departments.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management.
  • Ability to work independently and balance multiple priorities simultaneously to meet company deadlines.
