OVERVIEW:

As a Full-time Procurement Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to research and finalize formal Requests for Quotes (RFQs).

This role necessitates a thorough understanding of customer specifications and requires close collaboration with sales, engineering, quality assurance, suppliers, and clients.

After a designated onboarding and training period, this position may provide a flexible work schedule, contingent upon meeting performance benchmarks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities associated with this role encompass, but are not limited to:
o Conducting research and completing formal Requests for Quotes (RFQs) for some of Fastenal Company's most significant current and prospective clients
o Collaborating closely with various teams, including Fastenal Sales Teams, Product Development Teams, Manufacturers, and Clients
o Engaging in a team focused on Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) components
o Cross-referencing components based on client specifications
o Identifying supply sources for non-standard items and providing accurate alternative or substitute products when applicable
o Partnering with the Fastenal Supplier Development team to enhance supplier onboarding, roadmaps, and the continuous improvement of data content
o Supporting the Fastenal Lean Solution team in the rollout of new business initiatives
o Working alongside Fastenal Industry Sales Specialists and Engineers to gain a deeper understanding of client needs and solutions
o Negotiating bid terms to achieve optimal pricing or cost-saving strategies with suppliers and manufacturers

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are essential for this position:
o Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
o Strong mathematical aptitude, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency
o Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o Currently pursuing or possessing a degree related to Business
o Previous experience in sales or a related field
o Prior experience with industrial products
