Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tractor Trailer Driver to join our team at GFL Environmental. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer truck on assigned routes to collect and transport solid waste and recyclables.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate tractor-trailer truck and on-board hydraulic systems on assigned routes to collect solid waste and/or recyclables.
  • Ensure all loads are secure and properly closed.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and reports.
  • Communicate vehicle mechanical problems to mechanics and supervisors.
  • Follow all safety standards and regulations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class 1 Driver's License.
  • Minimum one year of commercial driving experience.
  • Ability to safely operate a tractor-trailer truck and equipment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of truck components and basic maintenance requirements.
  • Ability to control equipment and maneuver in tight spaces.
  • Ability to recognize unacceptable waste and communicate effectively with customers.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and commitment to continuous improvement.
