Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team at Tom MacDonald Trucking Limited.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods and materials across the country. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of physical fitness, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive Safely: Operate a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods and materials across the country, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Load and Unload: Load and unload goods at designated locations, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and accounted for.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition, and perform routine maintenance tasks as required.
  • Communication: Maintain regular communication with dispatch and other stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of goods and materials.
  • Documentation: Accurately complete all necessary documentation, including inspection reports, trip reports, and cargo information.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Experience an asset.
  • Certifications: Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Language: English.
Work Environment:

This is a permanent, full-time position that requires the ability to work overtime as needed. The successful candidate will be required to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
