Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team at Tom MacDonald Trucking Limited.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods and materials across the country. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a tractor-trailer combination: Safely transport goods and materials across the country, following all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Load and unload goods: Ensure that all goods are properly loaded and unloaded, and that the vehicle is secure and ready for transport.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections: Regularly inspect the vehicle to ensure that it is in good working condition, and that all necessary safety checks have been completed.
  • Maintain accurate records: Keep accurate records of cargo, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Communicate with dispatch: Regularly communicate with dispatch to receive and relay information, and to ensure that all necessary documentation is complete.
Requirements:
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A): A valid driver's license is required for this role.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a truck driver is an asset.
  • Physical Demands: This role requires sitting for long periods of time, and may involve overtime.
