Objective:

  • Accountable for guaranteeing that the manufactured products comply with the quality benchmarks necessary to reduce quality expenses and enhance customer satisfaction while ensuring adherence to established procedures and processes.
  • Verify that incoming materials satisfy the required quality criteria.
  • Tasked with identifying and escalating quality concerns and promptly resolving them to ensure no adverse effects on the customer.
  • Collaborate within a team setting to devise and implement optimal practices that prioritize defect prevention, minimize variation and waste, and foster continuous enhancements in fulfilling all customer expectations.
  • Engage closely with the Operations, Purchasing, and Engineering divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing all quality-related matters within the manufacturing team (including internal, supplier, customer, and warranty issues).
  • Collaborate with the team to determine root causes and initiate permanent corrective measures for product quality challenges.
  • Conduct supplier validation audits, with support from suppliers, and oversee supplier advanced product quality planning (APQP).
  • Perform product and process audits.
  • Ensure that control plans and related documentation are effectively implemented and maintained.
  • Monitor and report on quality-related key performance indicators, including scrap rates, rework levels, and failure rates.
  • Ensure compliance with and assist in adherence to the Quality Management System (ISO9001).
  • Support the training of quality awareness.
  • Lead the supplier approval process by evaluating manufacturing/technology capabilities and assessing health, safety, and environmental risks.
  • Assist in new product launches to guarantee that supplier quality meets the necessary standards.
  • Conduct on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions for supplier quality issues (NCR/SCAR).
  • Gather and analyze supplier quality data to identify opportunities for process improvements within the supply chain.
  • Work directly with suppliers to create corrective action plans addressing process failures.
  • Oversee supplier evaluation and monitoring, including audits and other activities to ensure that supplied processes, products, and services meet established requirements.
  • Determine and implement necessary controls for the verification and validation of externally provided products and services to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Coordinate the incoming inspection process.
  • Manage the status and calibration of measuring and test equipment (MTE).
  • Encourage the application of preferred techniques for continuous improvement, such as Lean, Six Sigma, Measurement System Analysis, and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  • Assist with engineering product specifications, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and evaluation of initial samples, validation, and verification reports.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams for the development of new products or modifications to existing products to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5-10 years of experience in a quality role within the manufacturing sector.
  • ASQ certification is advantageous.
  • Proficient understanding of quality management systems.
  • Strong familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly those utilized in custom builds and automated assembly.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is essential.
  • Experience with inspection methods and auditing is required.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Good comprehension and interpretation of engineering drawings.
  • Willingness to travel and possession of a valid driver's license is necessary.
  • A valid passport is required.
