Role Overview
The Senior Portfolio Accountant will join our portfolio accounting team at QuadReal Property Group, reporting directly to the Manager. The portfolio accounting team's current focus is on developing operational efficiency in order to provide leadership to others within the organization while maintaining accurate and timely reporting to all internal and external stakeholders.
The company's near to medium term focus is on maximizing returns for public sector pension holders through value creation on real estate development projects along with strategic leverage optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analysis of the quarterly financial results
- Prepare and reconcile the quarterly NAV pricing file
- Review and preparation of quarterly consolidated financial statements with note disclosures for audit committee
- Review and preparation of annual statutory financial statements
- Review and preparation of quarterly compilation financial statements for financial planning and analysis and the lenders
- Review and analysis of the quarterly KPI reporting to management
- Preparation of debt covenant compliance workbooks for delivery to the treasury team in their initiatives to obtain debt and credit ratings
- Provide support to the financial planning and analysis team in their efforts to consolidate and manage all business lines of the company
- Preparation and review of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
- Support the investment management team in reporting their quarterly results
- Initiate and support the development of processes and system improvements
- Assist with the year-end audit
Requirements and Qualifications
- Professional accounting designation (CPA – CGA/CMA/CA)
- 5+ years of experience in a finance accounting/reporting environment
- Prior experience with financial software is an asset
- Prior experience in the real estate industry is an asset
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and full cycle accounting experience
- Attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong proficiency with Excel functions and working with large volumes of data
