About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and team-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at Barrie Special Care Home Ltd. As a key member of our food service team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and dining areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to residents and staff
    • Ensure that all food is handled, stored, and served in a safe and sanitary manner
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
    • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Supply Management
    • Restock kitchen supplies and equipment as needed
    • Ensure that all supplies are properly stored and labeled
  • Team Support
    • Assist other kitchen staff members as needed
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of kitchen policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen or food service environment
  • Skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills
    • Ability to lift and move heavy objects
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and supportive team environment. The kitchen is a physically demanding environment, and the successful candidate must be able to lift and move heavy objects.
