Job Summary

UniFirst Corporation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment, including large capacity washers, dryers, pneumatic and steam systems, convey systems, and boilers.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Ensure safe operation of machinery and equipment, adhering to all relevant safety protocols and procedures.
  • Follow blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Utilize hand and power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices to perform tasks.
  • Record and analyze meter readings of utilities and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Perform daily and weekly safety checks on equipment and facilities, addressing any concerns or issues.
  • Inspect and maintain motor, belts, fluid levels, and other equipment components, replacing filters and performing other maintenance actions as required.
  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track and manage maintenance activities.
  • Respond to emergency alarms and assist with other maintenance personnel as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two-year technical degree preferred.
  • At least 18 years of age and valid non-commercial driver's license required.
  • Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment and procedures.
  • Minimum of 6 months' work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics, as well as maintenance literature printed in English.
  • Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Lockout/Tagout experience required; prior welding experience preferred.
  • Experience with formalized safety programs and CMMS systems preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work overtime as needed.
