Maintenance Director

About the Role

UniFirst Corporation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the efficient functioning of our facility equipment and processes. This role involves identifying areas for improvement, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing on-going training for maintenance staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using blueprints, schematics, and repair manuals.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to identify malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
• Perform basic welding activities to effect repairs on facilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and associated control systems.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
• Monitor and record chemical adjustments for boiler and wastewater pre-treatment systems.
• Oversee and implement all maintenance-related regulatory and environmental compliance requirements.
• Assume responsibility for all aspects of safety within the maintenance department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; two-year technical degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using Hand & Power tools required.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics, and understand maintenance literature printed in English.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work overtime as needed.
