About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Construction Equipment Operator to join our team at Winnipeg Dig & Demolition Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment in a variety of settings, including construction sites and industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate a range of heavy equipment, including backhoes, excavators, loaders, and compactors.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend its lifespan.
  • Pre-Operational Checks: Conduct thorough pre-operational checks on equipment to identify and address any potential issues before use.
  • Material Handling: Load and unload materials, such as sand, gravel, and other construction materials, from trucks and other vehicles.
  • Site Preparation: Assist in site preparation, including clearing land, excavating, and grading.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Physical Demands: This role requires a high level of physical fitness and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Language: English is the primary language spoken in the workplace.
  • Work Schedule: 40 to 50 hours per week, with overtime required as needed.
