Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary:

Bothar is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe operation of heavy-duty equipment for ground excavation and material handling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy-duty equipment such as wheeled and track excavators, skid-steer loaders, telehandlers, and forklifts.
  • Assist the operations team to ensure project execution is efficient and safe.
  • Perform daily maintenance and repairs on equipment.
  • Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
  • Ensure company equipment, materials, and work sites are maintained and stored safely.
  • Document pre-use equipment inspections and communicate any deficiencies to the Site Supervisor.
  • Participate in daily HSE meetings and work area inspections.
  • Track volumes and loads out while mucking out drill cuttings.
  • Mix and dry cuttings prior to loading out.
  • Report low inventory of consumables.
  • Clean and fuel equipment on-site.
  • Follow equipment specifications and limitations.
  • Inspect and document rigging accessories prior to use.
  • Set up exclusion zones.
  • Assist others on site with their tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience in oil field industry, lease construction, or heavy civil construction.
  • Tunneling/underground experience is an asset.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of specialized experience in the field is an asset.
  • WHIMIS, First Aid, CSTS or PCST, Confined Space Entry and Rescue, Fall Arrest / Fall Protection, H2S Alive safety tickets are required.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in all weather conditions, inside and outside.
  • Work in confined spaces.
  • Work day and night shifts, including holidays.
