About the Opportunity

We are seeking a recent graduate from a Physiotherapy Program to complete a Physiotherapy Residency with Nova Scotia Health. This is an exciting opportunity to gain clinical experience and develop your skills in a tertiary care setting.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations, or disabilities
  • Develop holistic treatment programs using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical, and hydrotherapy techniques
  • Educate and communicate with other health disciplines, the general public, family members, and caregivers regarding health promotion, physiotherapy treatment, and patient management
Requirements
  • Graduation in 2024 from a Master's degree in Physiotherapy or acceptable equivalent from a recognized school of Physiotherapy
  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
  • Current certification in CPR
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer competency with Microsoft office suite
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
What We Offer
  • A 14-18 month long assignment, full-time (over-core) positions
  • One (1) permanent, full-time (over-core) position available at South Shore Regional Hospital
  • One (1) permanent, full-time (over-core) position available at Yarmouth Regional Hospital
  • Following your Residency, you will either be placed into open unfilled positions within Rehabilitation Services, or you can apply for advertised positions throughout Nova Scotia Health
Compensation and Incentives

$33.97 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Successful candidates going into a residency placement outside of Central Zone will receive a signing bonus of $5000 with a defined Return of Service contract.
