Position Summary:
Reporting to the Project Team Lead, the Grader Operator plays a vital role in supporting the project objectives and daily operations. This position is safety-sensitive and requires successful completion of pre-employment assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Safely operate and maintain the grader to meet operational deadlines.
  2. Coordinate machine movements in compliance with hand and audio signals from team members.
  3. Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and walk-around inspections before equipment operation.
  4. Perform site preparation, soil management, and reclamation activities using the grader.
  5. Operate the grader in close proximity to other vehicles and personnel.
  6. Maintain equipment and report any necessary repairs.
  7. Follow all company policies and procedures, utilize personal protective equipment (PPE), and complete Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLRA).
  8. Assist other operators and laborers as required.
  9. Execute additional construction tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
  2. A valid class five (5) driver's license is required.
  3. A three-year Driver's Abstract is necessary.
  4. CSTS and OSSA or BSO or CSO certification is required.
  5. Ground Disturbance II certification is essential; First Aid certification is an asset.
  6. A minimum of three years of grader operation experience in construction, particularly in Reclamation, Civil Earthworks, Mining, or Oil/Gas environments is preferred.
  7. Detail-oriented with strong focus and time management skills.
  8. Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is required.

This position is located at the Kearl Oil Sands Site, with a work schedule of 14 days on and 7 days off, including both day and night shifts. Camp accommodations and flights are provided from select locations.
