Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our team at the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board. The successful candidate will work under the direction of a Teacher to develop and implement an educational program in an integrated setting, emphasizing behaviour management, socialization skills, and developmental communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and implementing an educational program in an integrated setting
  • Participate in program planning in close co-operation with the home setting and school
  • Maintain accurate daily records
  • Provide supervision as assigned
  • Perform other related duties
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a 2 or 3 year Community College Diploma in Educational Assistant, Autism and Behaviour Management, Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Worker Program, Early Childhood Education or Social Services. Candidates must be physically able to perform the essential duties of the position.

Requirements
  • Proven ability to deal with confidential information in a discrete manner
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to enrol in CPR and First Aid as required
  • Cultural sensitivity
  • Working knowledge of computers and relevant software programs
  • Ability and willingness to perform required physical tasks
