Director, Research Administration and Operations

About the Role:

CancerCare Manitoba is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Research Administration and Operations to lead the coordination, administration, and operations of cancer and blood disorder research projects and programs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in research administration and operations, with a proven track record of successfully managing and monitoring research projects and clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the coordination, administration, and operations of CancerCare Manitoba research projects and programs
  • Work closely with researchers to encourage, facilitate, support, and coordinate research projects
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives and change management plans
  • Manage laboratory and/or research operations in a healthcare facility

Requirements:

  • Master's level degree in a health or science-related discipline
  • 7 years of experience working in a research/medical laboratory or other research environment
  • 7 years of experience working collaboratively within a team environment with proven success through strong leadership and the building of collaborative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience developing/conceptualizing, implementing and monitoring strategic initiatives or change management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate level degree in a health- or science-related discipline
  • Master of Business Administration, or equivalent
  • Experience managing laboratory and/or research operations in a healthcare facility
