Mental Health Clinician

Overview
An integral member of our interprofessional team, the Mental Health Clinician plays a key role in the assessment and treatment of individuals accessing our services. This includes members of First Responder groups. The clinician will work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, and kinesiologists to determine the client's clinical needs and develop a treatment plan to ensure a safe transition from our program to the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop treatment plans for individuals, including First Responders experiencing mental health issues.
- Prepare and deliver psychoeducation sessions to promote client understanding and engagement.
- Provide evidence-based individual and group treatment interventions to support client recovery.
- Participate in interprofessional rounds to discuss challenging cases and identify solutions.
- Prepare in-depth clinical reports to assist with case management.
- Collaborate with external groups, including insurers and employers, to ensure seamless care transitions.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in a regulated healthcare profession.
- Membership with a professional college and good standing.
- Minimum five years of clinical experience working with individuals with mental health and/or concurrent disorders.
- Extensive training and experience providing time-limited, evidence-based treatments, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
- Experience working with First Responders/public safety personnel.
- Working knowledge of evidence-based trauma treatments.
- Strong individual and group psychotherapy skills.
- Knowledgeable with data collection tools.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of an interprofessional team.
