The UGDSB is a dedicated organization employing approximately 4,000 staff members who support over 35,000 students across various educational programs. The Board is committed to fostering student success and well-being through a collaborative environment that meets the diverse needs of its learners.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The UGDSB is in search of a proactive individual to fulfill the role of HRIS Governance Specialist.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Processes and Documentation
- Oversee the governance of HR workflows, ensuring thorough documentation and standardization during system transitions.
- Analyze and map processes to identify areas for technological enhancement, aiming to streamline operations.
- Maintain comprehensive records of changes affecting existing policies and procedures.
- Develop and uphold efficient HR process workflows that comply with organizational standards.
- Identify necessary adjustments to policies and practices to align with future objectives.
- Proactively address issues and enhance user experiences related to HRIS integrations.
ERP Project Support
- Collaborate with project management to clarify HR processes, ensuring seamless transitions to new systems.
- Serve as the primary HR contact for inquiries related to ERP implementation, liaising with Payroll and Finance.
- Work with leadership to prioritize optimization initiatives and coordinate project timelines.
- Engage with HR leadership to identify and implement solutions to operational challenges.
- Coordinate with IT and other departments to recommend and execute improvements to existing systems.
Communication, Training, and Development
- Assist in creating educational materials and content related to HR processes and standard operating procedures.
- Translate functional requirements into actionable plans through workshops and interviews.
- Design and implement training programs for end-users.
- Develop communication strategies to ensure effective execution of process changes.
Reporting and Analysis
- Monitor efficiencies across HR functions resulting from system transitions.
- Maintain a structured approach to assess and organize core HR processes.
- Regularly evaluate HR data to identify opportunities for further enhancements.
- Administer reporting tools for end-users to facilitate data analysis.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of seven to ten years of progressive HR experience, particularly in process management and ERP technologies.
- Preferred completion of the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
- Experience with Change Management Practices and Project Management is an asset.
- Proficiency in various HRIS platforms and a strong understanding of business processes.
- Ability to analyze and document business needs effectively.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
