Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development, execution, assessment, and evaluation of the Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP).
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet client needs through the provision of appropriate equipment.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of loans, returns, inventory, and repairs in accordance with established procedures.
  • Coordinate with Health Equipment Technicians to ensure timely adjustments to equipment based on client specifications.
  • Supervise Community Health Assistants and Specialized Technicians.
  • Conduct audits and maintain compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards within the warehouse.
  • Engage with Long Term Care facilities to ensure proper equipment delivery and suitability for clients.
  • Network with facilities, occupational therapists, and equipment providers to enhance service delivery in a cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices as outlined in the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Occupational Therapy with membership eligibility in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists and current registration with the Nova Scotia Association of Occupational Therapists.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience.
  • Strong understanding of current trends in community health and experience in health equipment or geriatrics is preferred.
  • Familiarity with specialized health equipment and mattress systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse groups of employees and external partners.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, with experience in inventory control preferred.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English are required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex environment.
  • Previous WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety training is an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the province.
  • Satisfactory driver's abstract is required.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada is essential.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment screening process, including an Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC), is mandatory.

Salary Range: $57,113 - $71,391
