Position Overview

Xcel Construction Limited is seeking a skilled Construction Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects through effective planning and supervision.

Educational Requirements
  • Completion of a college, CEGEP, or equivalent non-university program lasting 1 to 2 years.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the formulation of engineering specifications and detailed drawings.
  • Engage in field surveys, inspections, and technical assessments.
  • Compile construction specifications along with cost and material estimates.
  • Draft engineering designs and schematics.
  • Establish project timelines and schedules.
  • Oversee or conduct field surveys, inspections, and testing of construction materials.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise a small team of 1 to 2 individuals.

Technical Proficiencies
  • Proficient in CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering).
  • Experienced with AutoCAD software.
Specialization Areas

Focus on construction design and oversight.

Work Environment
  • Fast-paced work setting.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Capable of handling heavy materials.
  • Attention to detail is crucial.
  • Ability to distinguish colors is required.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year and less than 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
