Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Field Sales Representative to join our team at TTI, Inc. in Ottawa. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for increasing sales in our market and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Business Development: Sell company products and services to assigned customers, generating leads and calling on customer accounts to establish relationships and win product orders.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Establish and maintain effective business relationships with customer purchasing and management staff, ensuring all aspects of transactions are handled in a professional, ethical, and timely manner.
  • Lead Generation and Pursuit: Pursue new business leads using all available resources, including reps, trade shows, networking, manufacturers, and internal resources, to penetrate and secure new business.
  • Account Management: Facilitate follow-through on every level of the sales cycle, keeping in touch with customers, inside sales, manufacturers, and ensuring that everything is complete, timely, and meeting customer expectations.
  • Business Reviews and Meetings: Attend quarterly business reviews with suppliers and regular meetings with internal management to understand business outlook and opportunities.
  • Quote Management: Ensure timeliness of price quotes meeting customer deadlines by working with TTI personnel to gather accurate product and delivery information.
  • Customer Service and Support: Increase customer account coverage by working closely with Account Representatives to ensure customers receive the highest level of customer service and support.
  • Project and Design Support: Work with customer buyers, purchasing, and engineering staff on projects and designs, offering value-added services to ascertain future business.
  • Negotiation and Pricing: Strategize with company management on large customer quotes to negotiate price and delivery terms, offering the best deal for the customer and winning business.
  • Customer Complaint Resolution: Answer and resolve all customer questions, problems, and complaints by responding to contacts, resolving issues, and following through in a timely manner.
  • Market Awareness and Industry Trends: Maintain market awareness on competitor activities, industry trends, and new concepts by reading industry periodicals, networking, attending update training events, and trade shows.
  • Reporting and Quality Assurance: Report daily itinerary to branch management, submitting details on appointments, and participate in the TTI Total Quality Program by supporting the importance of quality and ensuring defined processes are followed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree with two years of Engineering and/or Component Sales experience preferred, with a progression from inside sales, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills and Certifications: Must be organized, able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, present complex topics effectively, possess strong analytical skills, and have working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and computer systems.
  • Language and Travel: Bilingual in English and French preferred, and requires some travel, varying depending on territory.
