Team Overview

The Nanometrics Seismic Monitoring Services (SMS) unit is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Services Operations Manager to oversee the management and delivery of a 24/7 cloud-based data center. The successful candidate will develop a thorough understanding of Nanometrics' service offerings and the related technological landscape, collaborating across various business functions to efficiently align internal resources and meet stakeholder objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire a diverse team committed to maintaining 24/7 services within the cloud infrastructure, promoting a collaborative and continuously improving environment.
  • Provide strategic direction for the cloud data center, championing its development and driving initiatives for efficiency and automation.
  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of a 24/7 operational cloud environment that supports business-critical applications.
  • Continuously monitor the status and completion of infrastructure projects.
  • Manage infrastructure costs, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Act as the primary advocate for the evolution of the cloud-based data center, offering strategic operational guidance.
  • Promote and drive the advancement of the environment towards greater efficiency and automation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science or technical operations.
  • 7-10 years of experience in technology operations roles, including service management, technical architecture, and network/systems operations.
  • 5 years of experience leading a multidisciplinary technology support team at a managerial level.
  • Expertise in technical architecture and network/systems operations.
  • Proficient in modern cloud concepts and technologies related to Kubernetes, including networking, load balancing, auto-scaling, and cluster optimization.
  • Familiarity with observability platforms concerning metrics, logs, and tracing.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) concepts, including GitOps best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cloud computing certifications.
