Job Title: Cloud Systems Administrator

Telesat is a leading global satellite operator, providing reliable and secure satellite-delivered communications solutions worldwide to broadcast, telecommunications, corporate and government customers. As a Cloud Systems Administrator, you will be part of a team that delivers innovative solutions for our customers.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Cloud Onboarding and Support: Responsible for all onboarding/offboarding of SaaS platforms and related application/system support for Lightspeed cloud systems.
  • Cloud Application Support: Support of all cloud-based/SaaS applications including SSO configuration and user access troubleshooting.
  • Cloud Environment Management: Support of Lightspeed Development Cloud PC environment including patch management, image creation/management, software review and installation, and cost/usage monitoring and reporting.
  • Access Management: Management of all Lightspeed contractor/guest accounts, access, auditing, and tracking.
  • Cloud Asset Management: Assist in the support and operation of Windows and Linux-based assets within the Cloud environment as well as tools and scripts to support operations and management.
  • Cost Optimization: Management of cost reporting and optimization.
  • Cloud Engineering Support: Support the Platform Engineering team in daily operations of the Telesat MS Azure instances.
  • Cloud PC Solutions: Evaluate, deploy, and manage Cloud PC solutions for key lines of business.
  • Incident Support: Provide emergency support on incidents as required.
  • After-Hours Support: Perform occasional after-hours maintenance.
  • On-Call Rotation: Incident on-call rotation as required.
  • Day-to-Day Operations: Day-to-day operational support.

Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of relevant industry experience with the deployment, management and automation of Cloud-based resources.
  • Cloud Certifications: Industry certifications such as MCSE, CISSP are a strong asset.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
  • Cloud Administration: Experience in the administration of computer systems such as systems administrator in an operations role.
  • Cloud Operations: Strong understanding and hands on experience in operations and management of public cloud-computing environments like GCP, AWS and Azure.
  • Linux Administration: Strong understanding and hands on experience in the administration of Linux.
  • DevOps: Understanding of DevOps concepts.
  • Cloud Desktops: Experience in the deployment and support of Cloud/remotely based desktops.
  • Network Systems: Working technical knowledge of network systems.
  • System Software: Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols and standards including Active Directory.
  • Identity Management: Identity management using Microsoft Identity Manager and Azure AD Connect.
  • Scripting: Solid scripting experience (e.g. Powershell, Terraform, Ansible).
  • Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Analysis: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Clearance: Ability to achieve Secret clearance.
