Job Overview:

The Machining Operations Supervisor will oversee the daily activities of the machine shop workforce, ensuring efficient production processes. This role involves monitoring all machining projects to maintain budget compliance and developing contingency strategies for any projects that may exceed financial expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guide machine shop personnel in their daily production tasks.
  • Maintain oversight of all machining jobs to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Facilitate job scheduling within the machine shop to guarantee timely delivery to clients.
  • Collaborate with the fabrication department to ensure the availability of necessary components.
  • Act as the primary technical representative for machining matters, serving as a liaison between the company and clients.
  • Manage the inventory of machine shop consumables and supplies.
  • Propose new machinery or processes to enhance labor efficiency.
  • Participate in the recruitment and hiring of machine shop staff.
  • Conduct performance assessments and implement progressive disciplinary measures when required.
Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications: Machinist Certificate of Qualification.

Experience: A minimum of 10 years in a machine shop or engineering environment with substantial machining capabilities, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role.

Skills: Strong understanding of machinery, equipment, and material tolerances. Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in conflict resolution, personnel management, and production planning. Familiarity with relevant software applications.
