Duties / Responsibilities

  • Skillset: Over 10 years of experience in a machining environment or engineering sector of a manufacturing entity with significant machining capabilities. At least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Strong comprehension of machinery, equipment, and material tolerances. Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in conflict resolution, personnel management, and production scheduling. Familiarity with relevant software applications.
  • Responsibilities: Oversee daily production activities of machine shop personnel. Monitor all machining projects to ensure adherence to budget and develop contingency plans for projects exceeding budget limits. Assist in job scheduling within the machine shop to guarantee timely delivery to clients. Collaborate with the fabrication department to ensure necessary parts are available as needed. Act as the primary technical machining representative for the organization, serving as a liaison with clients and other stakeholders. Manage consumables and supplies for the machine shop. Propose new equipment or processes to enhance labor efficiency. Recruit and onboard machine shop staff. Conduct performance assessments and implement progressive disciplinary measures when required.
