Machine Shop Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Shop Manager to lead our machine shop team in day-to-day production activities. The successful candidate will have a strong background in machining and experience in supervising a team.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct machine shop employees in day-to-day production activities.
- Track all machine shop jobs to ensure on-budget and prepare mitigation plans if a project is tracking over budget.
- Assist with scheduling jobs through the machine shop to maintain on-time delivery to the customer.
- Coordinate with the fabrication shop to ensure parts are available when required.
- Main technical machining representative for the company, active as a liaison with the customer and others.
- Manage machine shop consumables and shop supplies.
- Recommend new equipment or processes to maximize labor productivity.
- Recruit and hire machine shop employees.
- Conduct performance evaluations; perform progressive discipline actions when necessary.
- Machinist Certificate of Qualification.
- 10+ years' experience in a machine shop environment or engineering department of a manufacturer with heavy machining capabilities.
- 3+ years' experience as a lead hand or supervisor.
- Good understanding of machinery and equipment and material tolerances.
- Good time management and problem-solving skills.
- Skilled at conflict resolution, people management, and production planning.
- Competence with computer software.
