Transforming Transportation Infrastructure

RVA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Transportation Engineer to lead the design and development of major road infrastructure projects. As a key member of our Transportation team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality designs that meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of preliminary and final designs for major road infrastructure projects, including stormwater management and utility relocation.
  • Develop designs that satisfy approval agencies, including conservation authorities and government agencies.
  • Oversee the preparation of design drawings using Civil3D and Inroads.
  • Develop tender documents, reports, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with staff and external subconsultants to meet project deliverables.
  • Ensure quality control and assurance to confirm designs meet TAC/MTO standards and client requirements.
  • Resolve complex construction issues, including constructability, staging, and temporary works.
  • Participate in the training and development of junior staff.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 10+ years' experience in transportation design, including conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design.
  • Active designation to practice in the province of Ontario.
  • Proficient in transportation and municipal design.
  • Experience with design of grade separations, HOV and BRT lanes, and transit facilities.
  • Experience in rail infrastructure projects, including Metrolinx, CN, CP, and AREMA design guidelines.
  • Training in Canadian Railway Operating Rules and Track Inspection Guidelines.
  • Practical knowledge of construction sequencing and constructability.
  • Experience managing projects in Civil 3D and/or InRoads.
